The Leading Edge Challenge Course is designed to foster teambuilding. It is an experiential opportunity to enhance individual and group leadership skills. The 'course' is a series of High and Low elements that incorporate the philosophy of 'Challenge by Choice'. Participants are encouraged to participate at their own personal learning level - but never forced! Participants should factor in their physical and emotional abilities, and take responsibility for their own actions and choices. This allows them to decide what they should or should not do!!

The Challenge Course experience is
interacting and learning with fellow team members in a fun and
supportive atmosphere. All activities are sequenced in a manner
that promotes the development of self confidence, group trust,
goal setting, cohesiveness, problem solving, and teamwork.
Through experiential play, participants discover and
explore various solutions to solving a given task. |

Each group has its
own unique needs and requirements, so sessions can be
custom designed. You may choose a full day, two-day, multiple
days, or 1/2 day of training and/or pre or post training visits.
These offer a full spectrum of teambuilding activities that reinforce
each
training module. Our indoor and outdoor experiential learning
systems provide the support, balance, and the leverage for
organizations
and companies to maximize their human resource potential.

Not all Challenge Courses are created equal. We at Stony Ranch recognize the difference between a recreational program and the benefits of a facilitated team-building program. Our facilitators are specifically trained for site-specific facilitation of a safe program. They must maintain First Aid and CPR certifications, as well as an annual facilitation skills review. |

Facilitators
The ultimate test of a successful teambuilding event is how well the
team carries away what they learn. Challenge courses
are
inherently fun, and safety is always the
top priority. Without
the guidance of a professional facilitator who knows how to identify
the specific needs of your team, how can you expect to get the results
your team needs from the experience? Any investment you
make should show a return on that investment. Why should your
teambuilding activity be any different?
Challenge
Course Manager Dick Hammond has been involved in training
and developing Challenge Courses since 1990. He is a member
of
ACCT (Association of Challenge Course Technology) and TERA (Texas
Experiential Ropes Association). He is a trainer in experiential
education and of challenge course facilitators. Dick
is an
associate with Adventure Resources, Inc. (A level 4 PVM with ACCT)
for building and inspecting Challenge Courses.
Lura,
Dick's wife, has been associated with Challenge Courses since
1988 and is also trained in experiential education. In addition,
senior lead facilitator Jessica Malone has been trained in Challenge
Course facilitation since 1994.

Leading Edge Challenge Course is located on 40 acres of beautifully
wooded private ranch in Stony, Texas. Stony Ranch is 10 miles
West of
Denton and 45 minutes from Dallas and Fort Worth. Stony is the
postal
region of Ponder, Texas. See

Ropes Course to you!!
Ropes To Go! is designed specifically to bring many aspects of the Challenge "Ropes" Course to a company or group's location. Most of the team building and group dynamic initiatives are included in this "portable" course. |

Ropes to Go! provides an excellent opportunity for both individual and team development. It develops trust, communication, decision-making, problem solving, and teamwork through group dynamics skills. Ropes to Go! is a great option if bringing your group to the Ropes Course is not an option. |
